Cancer Survivor Month: Celebrating Courage and Strength
Caris celebrates National Cancer Survivor Month throughout June and honors the courageous patients, caregivers and families who have been affected by cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, new cancer cases in the US are expected to surpass 2 million in 2024, which represents almost 5,500 diagnoses per day. Many people have been or will be impacted by cancer at some point in their lives, and it’s important to acknowledge the emotional, physical and financial challenges that survivors and their loved ones may face. You can commemorate National Cancer Survivor Month in the following ways:
Recognize the strength and celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, no matter where they are in their journey. Survivorship is ongoing, and patients can face unique challenges before, during and after treatment. Continue to check in and offer support throughout the process, from diagnosis to treatment to monitoring.
Schedule regular screening appointments with your doctor and be proactive about your health. Through screening and early detection of cancer, treatment may be more successful and increase chances of survival.
Learn how precision medicine and molecular profiling can help cancer patients. If you or a loved one receive a cancer diagnosis, it’s important to have as much information as possible to help make the most informed treatment decisions.
Cancer survivors can provide strength and support to others battling cancer by sharing their personal experiences. If you have received Caris testing, please share your story and tell us how molecular profiling played a role in your cancer journey.
Spread awareness about National Cancer Survivor Month by sharing this video with friends and family. Acknowledge the difficult journey of cancer survivors and show your support for the families, friends and caregivers who have provided continual assistance and hope to their loved ones.
Patients are at the center of everything we do at Caris and our purpose is to help improve the lives of as many people as possible. Please join us in celebrating the courage and strength of cancer patients, caregivers, friends and families throughout National Cancer Survivor Month.
